Welcome to the live feed of the Brits 2017, where you will find hilarious opinions and an in-depth account of the happenings.

Tell me why Little Mix were carried in by the Cybermen? I understand this whole 'make an entrance' thing but I was reminded of Goldfinger when the woman suffocates because her body is covered in gold paint. The lights and smoke machines felt like it was trying to mask something, like 'watch the pretty lights while I perform alike Mariah Carey- out of tune', which is certainly not true! Other than that, there is no denying they can sing and that there is something enticing about the attractive ladies dressed in fitted metal bodices like Boudicca. It was an expectedly intense start to the Brits 2017.

I forgot that David Tennant had a thriving singing career...oh that's right he doesn't! He was probably alerted by the return of his robotic enemies.

Emelie Sande is the winner of her fourth Brit award, for British Female Solo Artist. I think this is a little bit of a shocker as I haven't heard as much from her recently, however the votes tell no lies and she has got a winning voice. My money was on Ellie Goulding, but I must say I am pleased with the result.

Bruno Mars has come in looking like an extra on the Fresh Prince of Bel Air set, but the funk hobbit has been producing some throwback vibes with his tracks and his dance moves are fitting. The slow track is matched with harmonies by his backing singers and it feels very R. Kelly circa 1990s.

British Group is up, and I am thinking that Little Mix will reap the award.

YES! The 1975 have won, it's really nice to see that indie music is being recognised not only in the charts but as a prominent musical movement. The 1975 have been a band for years, producing music for themselves so it always feels touching to see hard work paying off. Appreciating Matt Healey's Pirates of the Caribbean get-up as well.

British Male Solo Artist goes to David Bowie, and it feels wrong to say this but would he have won if he had not passed away? Of course he is brilliant, one of the greatest ever artists to grace us with his presence, but to be recognised once you have gone when there are artists pushing to work hard and be recognised feels a little bit irrelevant. The Starman will always be remembered and his music has made him immortal, but in my personal opinion, Skepta should have won for the strives he is making in the grime scene.

British Breakthrough Act (please be Stormzy)...

Nope, Rag 'N' Bone Man, but his track Human has rocketed through the charts and is played everywhere so it is not surprising that he has won. Well done to him!

Genuinely confused by the comments flashed on screen during The 1975's performance, I am guessing that those were remarks made by the general public about the band but it's fun that the band can take the mick out of themselves and produce music for themselves.

British Single goes to Little Mix, no surprise there.

Katy Perry's performance shows two familiar looking skeletons dancing around on stage, is it a hint towards Donald Trump and Theresa May? Or was it just a trippy stunt to get the world talking? Either way it worked my friend.

International Male Solo Artist goes to big guns Drizzy! No wonder really, the Canadian rapper has produced some of the best tracks going and his tour sold out within minutes for the worthy price that they were. Pop music is always going to trump at the Brits, but the lesser nominated genres and artists are paving their way. Drake is certainly going to be doing more than one dance tonight...get it?

Skepta breaks the television with his muted out performance, but despite this he smashed it and shutdown the entire room. He may not be triumphant but his performance would have you thinking differently, I am sure all of his BBK mates are proud.

British Artist Video goes to One Direction, but it was a lonely looking stage for the only band member that showed up, Liam. Moment of glory for him there but he looked a little like a rabbit in the headlights, poor successful kid.

Best moment of the Brits is Stormzy joining Mr Ed Sheeran on stage and rapping away on Shape of You, must say that my body set out in chills to see him dancing around in his beanie. Stormzy, you are truly a music icon and it's always great to see genres crossing over and working in harmony. He may not have won an award, but he performed like a true showman in it for the right reasons.

The biggest award of the night, British Album of the Year, goes to none other than David Bowie for Blackstar. This is even more touching when you realise his album was a self-epitaph and it is truly being honoured as is deserved. His son Duncan Jones accepted the award on his behalf.

Although out of the live feed order, I think it is important to end on the tribute to all the artists who lost their lives in 2016 and were honoured in a video and a performance of Wham's A Different Corner by Coldplay's Chris Martin. As much as I don't appreciate Chris Martin and feel as though there are better artists out there for the job of honouring the legend that is George Michael, it is beautiful to see the way music can touch people and to appreciate the music that has been produced by the greats. If there is any message to take away from the night, it is that music immortalises the artist, as long as the music plays they will live on.
